Abstract
ATANASSOV, V., S. DIMITROV, E. DISHLYANOVA and T. ANGELOVA, 1999. Dynamics of some biochemical parameters in cocks semen during the productive period and their relationship with the fertility. Bulg. J. Agric. Sci., 5: 651-654
Semen was collected during 10 week productive period from 12 Cornish cocks to study the biochemical semen parameters (lipids, holesterol, phospholipids, LDH activity and protein concentration). It was found that there is a dynamics of studied semen characteristics and the fertility of eggs too. The high positive correlations exist between lipids and phospholipids (r = 0.72), as well as between LDH activity and fertility (r = 0.92). It is possible to prognosticate the fertility of cocks spermatozoa by it biochemical parameters.
Key words: cocks semen, biochemical semen parameters, fertility, correlation
