Abstract

KOSTOV, Y., 2000. Some changes of the electrocardiogram of sows, reared on industrial farms. Bulg. J. Agric. Sci., 6: 377-380

The present study shows different electrocardiografic records of sows, reared in individual pens on industrial farms. Compared to the normal electrocardiogram (ECG), the changes that occur most often concern the amplitude of R-wave, which decreases and is replaced by the pathological Q-wave. Further to these changes, ECG with P- and R-wave undulation are shown as well as different kinds of extrasystolic contractions, T-wave inversion, sinus arrhythmia, etc.

Key words: ECG, ECG-telemetry, chronic stress
