CMV isolates from Phaseolus vulgaris in Bulgaria were identified and characterized using various polyclonal (PAbs) and monoclonal (MAbs) antibodies in ELISA as well as PCR. CMV isolates were classified as subgroup I. MspI enzyme digestion of PCR amplicons revealed in some isolates patterns similar to subgroup Ig.
