Abstract
HADJINIKOLOVA, L., R. ATANASSOVA and T. HUBENOVA-SIDEROVA, 2000. Comparative immuno-biochemical characteristic of stocking material of carp (Cyprinus carpio L.), bighead carp (Aristichthys nobilis Rich.), grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella Val.) and tench (Tinca tinca L.), raised in polyculture. Bulg. J. Agric. Sci., 6: 675-679
Comparative immuno-biochemical characteristic of stocking material of carp (C. carpio L.), grass carp (C. idella Val.), bighead carp (A. nobilis Rich.) and tench (T. tinca L.), raised in polyculture, was performed for the indexes of bactericidal activity (BA), total proteins (TP) and blood glucose (BG) of blood serum pre and post wintering. It has been established that bactericidal activity is a comparatively stable index, characterizing the disease resistance of fish species and ages studied during the wintering period. It was proved that there is a seasonal variability of the total proteins and blood glucose indexes of carp, bighead carp, grass carp and tench, higher values being recorded in autumn (November) and spring (March).
Bighead carp and tench demonstrated species-related distinction in terms of total proteins and blood glucose, deposited in autumn and their utilization in the wintering period.Key words: carp, bighead carp, grass carp, tench, bactericidal activity, blood glucose, total serum protein
Abbreviations: BA – bactericidal activity; TP – total proteins; BG – blood glucose
